The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) in Taiwan has lifted the ban on masks exports on June 1. The Taiwanese domestic manufacturers have received a large number of orders from countries since the CECC’s announcement. According to the head of CECC Chen Shih Chung, mask stockpiles are calculated to have reached more than 200 to 300 million units.

With the COVID-19 pandemic still raging, the demand for high-quality masks is high, especially “Made in Taiwan” masks which have an excellent reputation. Among potential customers, many Japanese have already expressed their excitement about buying Made in Taiwan (MIT) masks.

According to NHK news, Japan’s textile imports surged in April, the import of textile goods like face masks hit 116 billion yen which is 10 times higher than the same month next year. There is 95 percent of Japanese masks imports from China, followed by Vietnam. However, people are worried about quality and hygiene. Therefore, people have been looking forward to purchasing the MIT masks.
