In Taiwan, the National Health Command Center (NHCC), addresses public health emergency and provides disaster information for disease control, has addressed a 3-stages domestic tourism recovery plan today. According to the NHCC, Taiwan’s Covid-19 numbers have been surprisingly low. There is 0 confirmed case from abroad for 8 days and 0 local confirmed case in local for 33 days. (until May 17th)

The Ministry of Transport of Taiwan announced the 3-stages plan for domestic tourism and sightseeing from June 1st. The first stage starts from May 27 to July 31 that mass transportation system can offer free seat ticket and people can eat and drink in the high-speed rail with proper social distance, but people have to wear masks after eating.

In the second stage, from August 1st to October 31, the government will provide subsidy for travel groups, amusement park tickets, Taiwan sightseeing bus and so on for promoting local tourism. For public transportation, it is expected to lift the whole catering service and souvenir selling on high-speed rail. The Taoyuan Airport will also stop to do health check in the entrance terminal.

The third stage, from October 1st to December 31th, will gradually release abroad traveling and border control policies such as stopover restrictions, returning passengers not allowed to take public transportation. The Taiwan Cross-strait will also offer service from port to port at the same time.
