According to the inbound data, there is a 99.9% decrease rate in the past months. The number direct affects most of the companies that live on foreign travelers.
The tax-free electronics retailer Laox Co. has also announced a plan to shut down half of the stores. Laox said in a statement that the company’s main customers were unable to enter Japan amid the pandemic and that no recovery was in sight.

Laox will close three stores in Hokkaido, six in Kyushu, and one each in Tokyo, the western Kinki region, and Okinawa. The closure dates will be announced after details are finalized.

Laox came under the wing of a major Chinese electronics retailer due to a business slump in 2009. However, this year the pandemic restricts inbound tourism and causes many stores to have to be shut down this time.
