The Italian government had decided to extend the emergency duration to the end of October due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to ANSA’s news report, the Italian government has the special powers that come with the state of emergency to take lockdown measures without having to go through parliament. 

The country has been in a state of emergency since the end of January. For preventing the virus outbreak again, the Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte request to extend the emergency duration and encourage people not to go outside without important purpose.
