The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is expected to lift its alert for the spread of the coronavirus. The government has issued a “Tokyo alert” on June 2 since the number of confirmed cases increased after relieve.
Tokyo officials will also take into account views of expects in lifting the alert. The officials are considering the timing of the lifting. When the 4 other prefectures were lifted on May 25, Tokyo moved to step two for easing shutdown on June 1. Step three allows restaurants to open until midnight, pachinko parlors and karaoke parlors can resume business.
