Japan Airlines has decided to fully reopen Terminal 1 for domestic flights at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on July 1st as more passengers are beginning to travel since the state of emergency was lifted on May 25 in Japan.

The airline closed its north wing departure, bound for Hokkaido, Tohoku, Tokai, Hokurika, Kinki in April after the number of passengers plunged due to the pandemic.

It has been conducting check-in and security screening procedures at the south wing terminal, flight bound to Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyusyu, Okinawa.

Beginning July 1, all of its six security screening gates at Terminal 1 will be back in operation.

JAL is now installing thermography equipment to observe passengers’s temperatures at the two security gates in the north wing.

Passengers will ask to pass through the security checkpoint at least 20 minutes prior to the departure and be at the gate no later than 10 minutes before the departure.
