The pandemic Covid-19 continued having a dramatic impact on the number of international arrivals in Japan since February. According to the report of the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the number of Japanese resident visitors abroad was 3,915 in April which was 99.8% less than last year. The oversea resident’s visit to Japan was about 2,900 which is -99.9% decrease from the previous year. This was the smallest number since 1964 with the highest reduction rate.

The Covid-19 has been hitting the world and stricter international travel restrictions and the expansion of the visa invalidation requirements from March contributed to the almost near-zero number of international travel from all countries. Luckily, the Japanese government plan to reopen the gate for the business visitor from some countries in July soon.
